Victor Calderon, PsyaD

Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

Dr. Victor Calderon is a licensed psychoanalyst at Resilience Restored Psychotherapy who works with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, psychosis, obsessionality, and difficulties with relationships or life transitions. His style is gentle yet steady—he is a deep listener with a big heart. Dr. Calderon received his doctorate in psychoanalysis from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, where he worked with patients across the lifespan and with diverse clinical presentations.

In addition, Dr. Calderon is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and has extensive experience working with children and individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. This work led him to study and practice child and play therapy with young people of all ages. His clinical training represents a rare integration of depth-oriented psychoanalytic understanding with behavioral and developmental perspectives, supporting individuals of all ages in making both meaningful and lasting change.

In Dr. Calderon’s own words:

I’m especially interested in helping people understand the underlying patterns and emotional experiences that shape how they relate to themselves and others. Many clients come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure why familiar struggles keep repeating. Together, we create a space to slow down, think carefully, and make sense of these experiences in ways that open new possibilities.

My approach is thoughtful, steady, and collaborative. While psychoanalytic work values depth and reflection, I also draw from practical strategies when helpful—so that insight can translate into greater freedom, stability, and choice in everyday life. Whether I am working with a child, a teenager, or an adult, I hold in mind each person’s developmental story and the resilience that can emerge when that story is understood with care.

Before joining Resilience Restored, I trained in settings that included work with serious and complex mental health concerns, experiences that deepened my respect for the courage it takes to seek help and the importance of a reliable therapeutic relationship. This perspective continues to guide my work today.

If you are considering therapy—or simply wondering whether it might help—I welcome the opportunity to meet and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
